You will make mistakes. It's fine. Light paint covers dark paint once dry. Painted outside the lines? That's "artistic interpretation."

Wrong colour entirely? Let it dry, paint over it. Knocked over paint pot #7? Email us, we'll send more. Mixed two colours by accident? Congrats, you've discovered custom blending.

Most people paint a section here and there while binge-watching something. You'll think "just one more section" at 11pm. You'll develop strong opinions about brush techniques. You'll text progress photos to people who didn't ask.

Start with beginner unless you're a masochist. You can always level up on the next one. Pixie recommends intermediate for pet portraits - enough detail to capture their judgment, not so much you lose your mind.

Define "low quality." Slightly blurry? Our artists are wizards. Taken with a flip phone through a screen door? Even wizards have limits. We can enhance what's there, not invent what isn't.

We do have specialist upscaling software that works on most photos to increase pixel count.

Scanned old photos work great - nostalgia makes up for pixel count. Just don't expect miracles from that photo you took of a photo in bad lighting. Our artists do their best, but it's not CSI.

We can do groups, but prepare for tiny face syndrome. Each person gets less canvas real estate. Three people? Manageable. Your entire family reunion? Maybe pick your favourites. Or go bigger - 40x50cm gives everyone room to breathe.

Phone photos are literally our bread and butter. Most orders come from phone photos. Your iPhone/Android takes better photos than professional cameras from 10 years ago.

Just make sure it's not a screenshot of a screenshot of a screenshot of an Instagram story. We need actual pixels to work with, not digital archaeology.

Rare, but it happens. Royal Mail can be rough. Email us a photo of the crime scene, we'll ship replacements within 24 hours. No interrogation, no "did you try turning it off and on again." Just new paints, on us.

We're paint by numbers artists, not miracle workers. We can crop them out if they're on the edge, but we can't Photoshop new backgrounds.

Consider it motivation to take new photos. Pixie suggests focusing on pets - they're more loyal anyway.

But here's the thing - acrylic paint doesn't expire quickly. That abandoned kit will wait for you. We've had people finish kits two years after starting. The painting doesn't care about your timeline.
